Adult In Custody (AIC) Telephone and Video Visitation Services

Sheriff's Office BadgeImportant Notice:
All calls made using Quick Connect will be charged an $8.00 convenience fee by Telmate in addition to the cost of the call.  The fee will be charged to the credit card used to pay for the call. As a reminder, the least expensive way to make calls is by using a Telmate Prepaid account.

You can set up a prepaid account on the kiosk in the Jail Lobby, by calling the Telmate customer service line or on the web at: GettingOut.com. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS REGARDING RATES PLEASE CALL TELMATE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT (866) 516-0115.

Telephone Services
AIC's may use telephones located throughout the jail facility to make outgoing calls. Each housing unit has specific hours the phone may be used. Staff cannot provide an Adults In Custody (AIC) specific schedule for telephone access.

These basic rules apply to phone services at the Lane County Jail:
  • AIC's have access to telephones during the daytime, except during meal service.
  • AIC's cannot receive telephone calls.
  • Jail staff will not relay messages to an AIC.
  • AIC's may place collect calls (subject to fees by your phone service provider) using the AIC phone system, or by using Telmate prepaid phone account.
  • AIC's are not allowed to make non-typical collect calls, 3-way calls, or unwanted calls.
  • Calling cards will not work on the Telmate system.
  • AIC's using a prepaid phone account may receive voice mail messages.
  • Phone calls, except for those made to the AIC's attorney and verified clergy members, are recorded.
  • TTY services for the hearing impaired are available upon request.

How to create and fund a Prepaid Telmate phone account.

To create and fund a Prepaid Telmate phone account:
  • Call 1-866-516-0115
  • Go to GettingOut.com
  • Use the Kiosk located in the Jail Lobby
You have two account options when funding an account:
  • Adult In Custody (AIC) Account: Funds in this account can be used by the AIC to call any number.
  • Friend & Family Account: Funds in this account can be used by the AIC to call your phone number(s) only.

Blocking Calls from Adults In Custody (AIC) Housed at Lane County Jail

If you receive a call from an Adult In Custody (AIC), you will be given the option of accepting the call, hanging up, blocking all calls from the AIC, or blocking all calls from any AIC's in the Lane County Jail. Simply follow the phone prompts during the call.

Please remember that the Lane County Jail does not administer the Telmate phone system. If you have questions regarding service, prepaid phone accounts, sending messages, leaving voice mail for AIC's, phone blocks or other phone issues, you must contact Telmate (GettingOut.com) or toll free at (866) 516-0115. There may be fees associated with contacting Telmate customer service by phone or online.

Video Visitation Services

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has installed Video Visitation to allow more opportunities for you to visit with your friends or family housed in the Lane County Jail. Video visits can be completed either from your home computer or using one of the video stations located in the Jail Lobby.

To schedule a video visitation use one of the following methods:
  • Use the Telmate Kiosks located in the ground floor lobby of the Jail.
  • From your own computer at GettingOut.com
AIC's receive one free video visit each week in addition to their normally scheduled social visitation. Free visits only apply to those scheduled and completed at the video stations in the Jail Lobby. The schedule charts below show the times available for Video Visitation. These times will vary for each AIC depending on custody status, classification and if other AIC's have previously booked the time. Telmate and the Lane County Jail are not responsible for canceled or missed Video Visitation sessions.
