We offer youth the opportunity for hands-on experience in all aspects of food service and catering. Students learn how to use institutional and commercial kitchen equipment safely. They use these skills daily to prepare meals for youth in the residential treatment program and for the MLK Ed. Center. Students are immersed in all aspects of catering. These include preparing food, setting up, taking down, and serving customers. Students also learn how to provide great customer service. The students gain experience in gardening and sustainable living. They are active in the harvesting, composting, and recycling of many of the foods they use. Each student receives the Oregon Food Handlers Certification training that is used to obtain their Food Handlers Card. This gives them eligibility to work in the food service industry for three years.

Our chefs and students look forward to creating the perfect meal for your event! If you would like something that is not on our menu, let us know. We offer a variety of gluten-free and vegetarian meals and snacks – just ask your Catering Coordinator for more information.

Orders must be placed at least seven (7) business days in advance of your event. While we cannot guarantee that we’ll be able to accommodate requests made with less than seven days’ notice, please contact us and we’ll be happy to check our availability.
