Crime Mapping Online

Sheriff's Office Badge

The Online Crime Mapping Computer Assisted Dispatch Log is available for general information regarding incidents reported to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. The map displays the type of incident that was reported, the date and time of call, and the general location of the call.   Information on the Crime Mapper is updated every four hours.

***We are aware that the Crime Map may occasionally incorrectly display some incidents as occurring outside of Lane County.  Our developer, Executive Information Systems, Inc., is aware of the problem and is working to resolve it quickly.

Please be advised that the Crime Mapper is only capable of displaying 2,500 incidents at a time.  The number of incidents displayed is shown in the upper left hand corner of the Crime Map.  If your search criteria yields more than 2,500 incidents, not all of the incidents that match your search criteria will be displayed on the map.   Narrowing your search to a smaller date range and/or selecting fewer Incident Types is recommended if you find that your search maxes out the number of incidents that can be displayed at one time.

Here are some tips to help get you started using the Crime Mapper!

  • The crime mapper will display icons for incidents that have been reported to the Lane County Sheriff’s Office.  The crime mapper can be customized to show reported incidents for the prior day, the past 3 days, the past week, the past month, or the user can enter in a customized date range in the upper left hand corner of the page.

  • Under “Map Type”, selecting Cluster will group multiple events under an icon denoted with a number.  Users may click on the number to view all of the events, or zoom in to see them individually.  Selecting Pin under “Map Type” will create an icon for each incident in that area for the selected date range.

  • Under “Incident Type”, users can select all of the incidents they would like to be displayed on the map.

*** The Lane County Sheriff’s Office utilizes hundreds of event types in our system. To simplify your search, event types have been condensed into the smaller list that is viewable next to the map. This means that multiple event types may be listed under the same category on the log; however, the exact event title is viewable in the details when you hover over the icon on the map. Below is a legend of four frequently searched event types and the calls they may include. For example, Criminal Mistreatment calls and Unattended Children calls will all be found under the “Family” category in the filter. Drowning calls can be found under the category “Body”.
