The Lane 1 Fire, located in Sharps Creek east of Cottage Grove, began on Wednesday, July 17.

    Level 3 (GO NOW) Evacuation Notice:
    • Bohemia Mining District and Fairview Peak

    Level 3 (GO NOW) Evacuation Notice: LEAVE IMMEDIATELY. Danger is current or imminent and you should evacuate now. If you choose to ignore this notice, emergency services may not be able to assist you further. DO NOT DELAY leaving to gather items or protect your home. THIS WILL BE THE LAST NOTICE YOU RECEIVE. Entry to evacuated areas may be denied until it’s safe.

     


    Federal land managers in the area have issued closure orders due to the fire. People camping in the Brice Creek, Sharps Creek, Champion Creek, Bohemia, and Fairview Peak areas should leave now.

    Road & Other Closures

    Lane County road closures:

    • Brice Creek Road
    • Sharps Creek Road is closed just past the waste transfer site (open to residential and light commercial traffic between Row River Road and Pony Creek Road)
    • Champion Creek Road


    Lane County's Bohemia Saddle Park is closed.

    Sharps Creek Transfer Site

    Lane County Waste Management's Sharp Creek Transfer Site may be affected by fire activity, poor air quality or extreme heat.

    In the interest of protecting the health and safety of our staff and our customers, and in recognition of Oregon OSHA’s heat and smoke safety laws, it is our policy to close sites when the heat index reaches 105, or when AQI exceeds 300.
