Lane County DDS has the responsibility and jurisdiction to conduct abuse investigations and to coordinate protective services for individuals with developmental disabilities who are over 18 years of age. These services are provided when abuse or neglect is suspected. Adult abuse may include physical, verbal, financial and sexual abuse, as well as abandonment, wrongful restraint, neglect and death. DDS employees and other community professionals are mandatory reporters of abuse.
