The Lane County Sheriff's Office provides a secure prescription drop box for residents to turn in their unwanted, outdated, and expired household medicines safely. The program is provided free of charge and is aimed at reducing the risk of household medicines being misused, abused, accidentally consumed by children, or improperly disposed of through wastewater or septic systems. Medications can be dropped off at Central Reception during regular business hours. The Sheriff's Office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays.
