Jerry's Safety Day

Attend this annual event and learn from experts how to stay safe during emergencies.  Connect with the local Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) members while you're there to talk about disasters!  

Beat the Wave Disaster Preparedness Expo

Location: Events Center, 715 Quince Street, Florence

A free, community-centered event that combines hands-on emergency preparedness workshops, expert resources, a fun run, and family-friendly activities to help residents get ready for natural disasters like tsunamis, earthquakes, and wildfires.

2025 Ready Fair

Location: Oregon Emergency Management, 3930 Fairview Industrial Drive SE, Salem OR 97302

The Oregon Ready Fair is a free, family-friendly event that aims to help the community build resilience and preparedness. Attendees can learn about food planning, water planning, waste management, and more, and participate in activities designed to make preparedness approachable and fun. 

McKenzie Fire Preparedness Event
Saturday, October 18 | 9:30 - 11:30
Location: 42870 Mckenzie Highway, Leaburg, OR

Local experts will be on hand with informational materials and will participate in a panel discussion from 10–11 AM, where they’ll share tips on staying safe during winter storms, floods, power outages, and more. Topics will include snow and ice safety, generator use, emergency food and water, heating precautions, and other critical preparedness advice. After the panel, you’ll have the chance to connect with each vendor directly at their tables to ask questions and gather helpful resources. Coffee and light snacks will be provided

Great Oregon Shakeout

Location: Anywhere!

At 10:16 a.m. (local time) on 10/16, you can join people across Oregon practicing earthquake safety. While we encourage you to participate with everyone, you can register your ShakeOut drill for any day of the year, and drill at a time of your choice.

The Great Oregon Camp-In
Friday, October 17 - Sunday, October 19 | For a few hours or the entire weekend!
Location: Your own home or neighborhood
Join in on the Great Oregon Camp-In! This is an opportunity for Oregonians to spend some time working on their emergency plan and practicing what it might be like to do day-to-day activities after a large disaster disrupts our daily lives.
