The Oregon State Police Sex Offender Registration Unit (OSP SOR) is the authority responsible for registration and tracking of all persons convicted of sex crimes that reside, work, or attend school within the State of Oregon. All law enforcement agencies in Oregon assist in this effort by handling initial and annual registration of sex offenders living in their county. The Lane County Sheriff’s Office does not maintain sex offender registration files.
Lane County Sheriff’s Office Police Records Officers are responsible for completing and forwarding to the OSP SOR unit required registration paperwork, including:
- Initial registration
- Fingerprinting
- Address changes; and
- Annual reporting of sex offenders
Office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is closed on legal holidays. Records Officers also provide an array of services to our citizens, meaning registrants could encounter a significant wait time and should plan accordingly.
